Patrick Bayly is a figurative painter from West Virginia, entering his second year as an MFA student in Painting at The School of the Arts, Columbia University. In 2018, he graduated with his BFA in Painting from West Virginia University and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.

During his time as an emerging painter in Morgantown, West Virginia, Bayly founded an artist collective that hosted events to cultivate creativity and a collective sense of space and placemaking.

Bayly is a Summer 2019 artist-in-residence at CRUSH Curatorial/Amagansett. While at CRUSH, Bayly is working with poet and environmentalist Jai Hamid Bashir on a project exploring ekphrastic painting and poetry: words lifted from paintings, and paintings lifted from words. The project will culminate in large-scale paintings and a performance exploring ideas generated in the collaboration between artists, forms, cooking, and the place in which they are.
